Happy Birthday times two

Happy birthday to DH who is as old as me now! (For a good two months!!)

Now tomorrow will be C-mans big 5th birthday!!! Poor little guy has to have a birthday with hungover parents...so we are doing the waterslides again. Its great for them and a bonus for us...we dont have to drive anywhere or get babysitters.

Its hard to believe he will be five and starting kindergarten in the fall. ITS ABOUT TIME!! At least thats what he says...he tells me on a daily basis that preschool is boring.

Have a happy and safe new year everybody!!!!

I knew it...

I just knew today would be better...and it was! (plus Dally told me my last blog was depressing)

Grandma Tractor came out of surgery very well. Talked to the surgeon who couldnt believe this had been going on for so long...sounds like it went as well as to be expected and she should be out of the hospital in two or three days.

And speaking of expected/expecting....GnD have finally agreed to let me - let the cat out of the bag!!! I am going to be an auntie again!! I think its twin boys, or triplet girls....not sure which but we are all pretty excited! CONGRATULATIONS SEESTER AND BRUDDER!! She is due some time mid August...and their new house hopefully will be all constructed by that time, or shortly after....otherwise 4 babies in their make-due apartment might be a squeeze.

Oh yeah...bought a treadmill tonight...DH is tracking down some muscular men to load it in the house and set it up. Uncle Freddy has agreed to join our biggest loser competition...so the sooner we set it up...the better. This contest is going to run from Jan 2- Feb 20 and the winner will get $50 from each participant. I'm going to down that last box of chocolates tonight before weigh-in!!!

Take care...have a happy new year.....!!!!!!

OH CRAP

mama told me there would be days like this...(isnt that lyrics???)

Anywho...this post is just to vent...totally vent...

First,,,my two month old (previously bragged about), very expensive washing machine...ON THE FRITZ...repair man came today...have to order repairs!!!

Second, Sydney is still limping from being run over by a skidoo on xmas day (complete accident and an over- rowdy dog)

Third,,my excercise bike died and thank goodness my dad and DH put it back together...tried it this morning, now the tension died...aarrgghh...so much for "getting back on track today"

Fourth, freezer on top of fridge died...along with some beautiful salmon steaks....guess we'll have to order in...????

Fifth ,,, our house has come down with "the diarrhea" (if you say it with a texan accent it sounds better). And without a washing machine, and a 4 year old that sleepwalks at night to pee....its a small hazardous waste site -AGAIN- at our house.

Sixth,,,,grandma tractor having surgery tonight, grandpa b going in tomorrow for his....(prayers for both of you!!!:)))

Seventh...possibility of DH being laid off again tonight and heading back to the big lights of Stoon. (might be a good thing...then he could at least have new years even off to spend at the waterslides.....uuooohhhh...just reminds me of that commercial....you know the one....SO DID YOU CLEAR UP THAT DIARRHEA????)

I'm sure there is an eighth...too tired to function....tomorrow will be a better day.....

thanks for letting me vent.....

Yes...we're still alive and kicking!!

Hey everybody! Merry Xmas and (almost) happy new year!!

Well another one just flew by....dad says the older you get the faster they go...which couldnt be any more true.

We have made 3 trips to Saskatoon in 5 days (and probably another one tomorrow). We have visitied 3 very special sets of grandparents, who spoiled our boys like crazy. Got to visit some old friends, get a nice wine glow going with some relatives and generally stuffed our face at every occassion.

Now its back to greens and melba toast. (Oh yeah..and buying a treadmill) For those of you wondering,,,since I forgot to post it and brag. I WAS THE WINNER OF THE BIGGEST LOSER CONTEST!! DH thinks I cheated, so I have yet to receive my prize....ummmm aaaahhh my reward...too risque to post...but it will be well worth it.

ps...I only have 7 more xmas cards to send out...

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS...

And all through the house,,,not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

WHO THE HELL ARE YOU KIDDING?

Obviously the person who wrote this didnt have to buy last minutes presents, run to Sobeys for more carrots, have children hopped up on sugar running around the house and drunken inlaws visiting. (ok the only inlaw here is drinking "fake beer"..but you know what I mean)..!!! Oh yeah...and wrapping presents, finishing desserts and writing in their blogs....

Ok Ok...I am going to enjoy the final minutes of xmas. M/KD's partay last night was a lot of fun and (headache aside) am having a pretty good day today. The boys had a blast at grandma and grandpas (dont have a good nickname yet..we'll come up with one!!)...Really appreciate having the night off. (Even though there was no nudity this year...It was still great to see everybody!!)

Have a great holiday everybody!! Hope to hear from you, or see most of you. Take care of yourself and remember the spirit of christmas....Love you!!!

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE......VELVIS!!!

Yes...and we've been learning alot about virtues from our catholic schooled boy. And also about who Jesus is. (He was a baby born in a really dirty barn, who grows up to be god and then a shining star)....so Velvis....here it is.
Concert last night took about 2 minutes (about the same time it took to conceive R-dog!!).
Can you picture my shining angel? He sang beautifully and managed to keep his hands out of his pants the whole time.
Kudos to their teacher who kept the lil devils from acting up!! It was a nice evening....

If you havent seen the video...be sure to ask us!!

Then off to the long awaited PARTAY at muds house!! YEAH....I have not had a good magnum of vino for a long time. Cant wait to see everybody!!

BIG DRAG...

OK... might not be Flames fans anymore....had disappointing news from our Flames connection. Because of overwhelming response to the tickets we were unable to secure our seats.

Tomorrow, seats are available to the general public. Hope hope hope we can get some otherwise I got some splaining to do.....wish me luck!!

If anyone has any other way to get tickets...please let us know....

Thanks!!!!!!!

Goofy weekend comments

Hey..previous post said it all...but here are some goofy things that happened along the way.

1) Complete white out blizzard along with freezing rain
2) R-dog explaining to his younger brother that the smoke stacks in Edmonton were "cloud factories". Didnt you know??
3) DH after having a few brewskies asking the girls if we saw any nuts being cracked? (nice....)
4) Marvelous Martha Stewart impression by Uncle Velvis
5) Lovely musical entertainment as sang by my two very talented nieces. Oh yeah...and all of us belting in to song when the mood struck
6)Food comas
7) Fat Bastard experience was not loved by all
8) Viking cuz'n visit and Ben Johnson races down main drag
9) DELIVERED 5 (count em) 5 xmas cards already!!
10) Great visit with summertime friends in the winter

Had a great time!!

Grandma Tractors 60th!!

We made her cry!! I guess mission accomplished. It was supposed to be a surprise, but her spidey senses were tingling, and she figured it out. It was a great weekend had by all. Not even the bratty little kids (NOT OURS!!) could ruin the afternoon at the nutcracker. While we were away watching the ballet, my boys were out at Millenium Place swimming and having a ball! Thanks to Auntie Velvis for putting up with us. We appreciate it!!

GO, FLAMES, GO!!!

We're jumping on the bandwagon, again!! Today we got tickets to go to the Flames vs Panthers matchup in Saskatoon!! We are very very excited.

Although years ago I used to cheer for the flames, I havent been a loyal fan at all. I have switched to the Leafs (because that is DH's team) and then to Edmonton (Auntie Velvis lives there and its closest to us) and now really to no team in particular. I'm still mad about the lockout/strike and can be terribly stubborn. Still dont even like to watch the games on tv....I am going to have to get over this grudge, because we love hockey.

Great experience for the kids to see a game and even though its only an exhibition match. R-dog has already asked how many more sleeps!! Cant stress enough how Saskatoon needs to have an NHL franchise!!! (Ok, size does matter...)

Go FLAMES Go....maybe see MD there????

Only 99 more things to do!!!

Yeah....got 4 dozen cookies done last night!! The boys did the icing and sprinkling and I packed and put in the freezer...so not to eat them. Only 98 more things to do on my "list".

Started packing for the big birthday trip! Winter boots - check (supposed to get another 10cms) Speedos - check (gonna be watersliding!!) X-mas gifts - not yet...gotta run out and get a couple of things yet. But, getting close.

Sydney is going for a sleepover at a friends house. Dont know what they were thinking when they agreed to watch her....gonna have to remember them at gift giving time!!

We are getting excited....grandma tractor isnt gonna know what hit her!! Being 60 is a milestone....good to have family around!! I imagine it being like the Griswald family vacations....should be a hoot!!

Holy moly...the cards are done!!

Feeling a little more like Martha every day (ha ha). Got the cards from the big store this morning and they turned out awesome. Even put them in their envelopes with names on. (Havent mailed any yet...hope to hand deliver most...????) One more thing crossed off the list, only 100 more to do...well probably only get to about 7 of those 100...but I'll try (sorta hard).

Our schedule this week is supposed to be hockey tuesday, hockey birthday party wednesday, hockey thursday, friday, saturday and sunday. I believe we will miss saturday and probably sunday as this is the weekend of our Edmonton trip. Look out Alberta!! The hillbillies are on their way!!!

(Oh yeah...biggest loser...DH lost two more...I lost two more....friday is our last weigh in day)

Working in "the building" tomorrow...even though I wasnt supposed to. Got guilted into it (again)...so I best be making lunches....

JUST ANOTHER DAY...

Only 14 more days!! The boys are counting down....

Tonight was a good night. We took the boys across the street to the school outdoor rink. We were the only ones there. They played hockey for just over an hour. Two against dad, until we got there. Then Sydney (we call her Sydney Crosby) joined in on the fun. She loved it, and so did the boys!!

Then, being the procrastinator that I am, started my xmas cards. What? Christmas cards already? But its not even January...i know i know...

I am probably the only person in the world who didnt know about the big american based stores website where you can upload your picture, insert it in the xmas card and have it delivered to a local store near you in ONE HOUR !! What the heck....how come I didnt know about this sooner...the more I can do from home the better. Gotta love it! (I know it worked for friends of ours, but of course she is organized and did it a month ago. We will see if its that quick this time of year.) Wish me luck. You all could be getting a Ukranian Christmas card from us.

Take care...have a great day....dont fret over shopping.....only fourteen days left.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE TIT!!!

(Sorry...I know you hate that name...but it was pretty funny!!)

Your nephews want to say happy birthday to you, old fart!! Heres a story that might make you proud.

After sledding yesterday, the boys were curled up on the couch together. Somehow, the conversation turned to girls and girlfriends. One of them mentioned something to do with "hot" girls. We asked them what "hot" meant, just waiting for their response. The 4 year old pipes up and says - Hot means sexy mom. You know...when their boobies show out of the top of their shirt.

Thought that might have been something you have been teaching them!!! (just wait until I spend the weekend with your little girl!!!)

Have a good one, brudder......!!!!

More hockey, (I know...i know...)

Sunday..more hockey. Again...same time...different rinks. And, again, DH had the morning off.

I was at R-dogs game. He had a goal and two assists (i think) and was at the "big" rink. He had a better game than yesterday and he agrees with us that its time to start exercising more to get better stamina....enough tv and more dog walking, right??? (We'll see how that goes)

If you are interested R-dogs stats/team and photos are posted on the following website...he would love for you to take a look.

Long time...

Hey everybody!! Sorry its taken soo long to write. I really don't know what I do with our time.

The boys had a great time on friday night over at our friends house playing hockey on their outdoor rink for at least 4 hours. They had a blast...also repeatedly reminded their dad that our rink hasnt even been started. This week, right????

Saturday morning they both had hockey-same time, different rinks. DH was fortunate enough to have it off, which was really nice for me. Both boys did really well and they both had two goals to show for their efforts.

The afternoon was so nice out, that we decided to take the boys out to Cochin for their first sled rides. What a great day...it was nice to see Auntie Delloraine..and "Uncle" Dave....R-dog and DH actually tipped the sled over once in the nice soft snow, but it didnt scare him enough to quit. C-man got a chance to drive and loved every minute of it. Then DH drove the sled home from the lake and made great time. After we got home, I was supposed to go to my xmas party but was way too pooped...

Here is a before pic of the day....

I'M NOT CONVERTED YET

Ok...I dont know how I got "convinced" (sucked into) into getting another dog. I'm really not an overly enthusiastic animal lover. My DH and boys both love animals....REALLY love animals...dont know where it came from or how they got it...but they really love them.

Homer was a dog who loved to run away...last count had to be about 25 times, give or take a few. On about 10 DH said that he would never go look for him again. This last time, was the final run.

We were without a dog for about 6 months. In these six months I put up with "can we please?" about 10,000 times (9000 of those from DH),,,,so I gave in.

Dont get me wrong...I think puppies are sooo adorable. And there is nothing better than a well behaved dog to play with and love. The parts that I dont like are the pooping everywhere, the chewing everything, and terrorizing the house after I spend an eternity cleaning it. Oh yeah...and the training....DH says he would take our precious Syd to classes (we made it to 3 out of 8....not bad)

Today was like any other, we took Syd for a walk to go get R-dog from school. Got home, fed her and went inside. Today she somehow managed to get out from the back yard. And, unlike her predecessor (big word, huh) she sat on the front step wagging her tail until we noticed her. BIG difference. Nice not having to search town for the littlest hobo.

Ok...maybe I am being converted...a little at a time

HAPPY BDAY CUTIE-P'TOOTIE

Happy birthday to my little cutie niece, who just turned 4 today.

Talked to grandma earlier and when she went to her house she was really mad. When I asked her why, she simply explained to her that she had two birthday parties this weekend, so she should be 5 not 4!!

Too smart for a beautiful 4 year old!!

Have a good one!! Love your cousins from the north.

WHAT THE??

Today, C-man and I are home alone. To quote him...I am soooo boring. Everyone is more fun than me. I'll show him.

Because I worked an exhausting 6 hours yesterday, it was our turn to have a break. We went to the preschool skate this morning from 9:30-10:30 and invited one of his buddies. They had the whole rink to themselves and had a blast! Then we went to the "big rink" to do some xmas shopping for grandma and he got to watch the zamboni...this is huge in his world!!

Got home, and made his fav-pizza for lunch. I think I'm doing pretty good today. After lunch we had a tackle tickle half an hour.(I think I won.) Just got back in from outside playing with Sydney and shovelling the driveway (also another one of his favorite things).

Now he tells me he is sooo bored.....I cant win!!!

Oh yes...and a favorite saying has started today. He has said it to me about 8 times. He tells me to "hose my honey off!!" and quite hostile, as well. No idea what this means or if I should be concerned,,,,it almost sounds x-rated...

Guess I'll go hose off....

BIGGEST LOSER UPDATE

Very sad day here...its black monday. Weigh-in day.

DH lost 4 , cougarmama up 2!!! Up two??? WTF??!! What went wrong...oh I know...it must have been the two days I spent in "the building"...that place makes me crave chocolate....

Ok...this week ...gotta ramp it up. Bought salad galore for me...and a whole bunch of nuts and cheese for DH.

Still two weeks until we go to Edmonton. Still can win that prize. If any of you are going to be around NB...please be sure to call DH for beer and chicken wings!! (just kidding...no not really....)

Until next week....

ITS GOOD TO HAVE FRIENDS

Hockey yesterday went well. Came home and we were frozen to the bone. Told the kids to go down and start the fireplace...but on low...not too hot, ok? Ok mom....I started lunch and we were going to have a picnic by the fireplace...awesome!!

Suddenly a funky smell was coming from the basement. uh-oh.

I go to investigate. My darling children have decided to "draw" with their plastic mini hockey sticks and puck. They have melted right on to the glass casing of the fireplace. Now mama is mad!! I have a little "melt down" myself. I say to the boys...LOOK AT THIS FIREPLACE!!!. The oldest one has the nerve to say to me, yeah, well DID YOU SEE MY PUCK??!!

Spent about half an hour trying to clean it,,,no luck.

Thank goodness they were invited to friends for the afternoon, or mama could have been in the news!! By the time they got home, my temper was calmed down. Definitely good to have friends.

ps - if any of you knows how to clean melted plastic off a fireplace, please please let me know.

FUN FAMILY NIGHT

Ok...I'm not a techy by any stretch, but now all the stuff has changed...so hopefully this works.

Last night, we had a family fun night. We decorated our tree (something like Charlie Browns, with lights), ate appetizers all night, danced and sang xmas carols and drank wine (pop for the kids). It was a great night. Then when it was all over and time to unwind, we put the tv on to find the Polar Express movie. If you have not seen it yet, please rent it. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed it. R-dog commented that daddys train could go to the north pole, just that CN doesnt want it to. (We had a good chuckle)

Hockey early this morning, R-dog scored 3 goals, and played really well defensively. C-man played really well - but was sooo cold when he got off the ice (with the wind chill feels like -40 today!!) So, today we have cranked the fireplace and hoping to do some xmas cards.

Take care....

Welcome

Hello! Welcome to our diary. Little snippets from our day ....here in Southtown. Enjoy.
