Hey...havent forgotten about you....hope you havent forgotten about us.
Retzkys team finally had a win - we are now 1-2, better than the Leafs!! There is a long ways to go ...but they are working hard. (and I got sucked into being Treasurer which has kept me busy busy busy)
C-mans team was picked monday night and they had their first practise tuesday. He came home saying that this years team looks pretty good. They are the Nitros...and have the ugliest jerseys, so surely that must mean they will be super good, right?
Trying to organize R-dogs 10th and final official birthday party...guess we are having it tuesday night after school...same as last year. Pizza football and halloween candy.
Speaking of the evil halloween....when will we officially ban together and NOT PARTAKE? god I hate halloween. Sending our children out in costumes to beg for candy. really? I actually made up a song about how much I hate Halloween and sent it to Uncle Cherry...but its really only a whole bunch of swear words all meshed together (maybe not totally appropriate to have here). AND NO I WILL NOT SEND TREAT BAGS TO SCHOOL. Do you not get enough candy??? aarrrghhhh
Think that C is going to be a rock star (is really unusually attached to the stretchy metallic pants we got him), and R is going to be a boxer. Havent got everything they both need...but I'm sure it will come together. fack. Oh yeah...and I'm supposed to run out and buy a real guitar for him to lug around with his candy sack. A cardboard one will not do, and neither will the wii Rock guitar. Only a real one. What kind of mother am I ?
dont answer that.
Will post pics of R-dogs stitches in the head another time....now my brain hurts from stupid halloween

BBB
Big B's Baptism....it was a great day. Grandma Tractor did the service...the grandkids got involved ....and he never fussed. Not one little bit.
Babysis then hosted a magnificent lunch (of course she ran out of food...again!!) But it was early the week after when she ran out!!
The house looks good...the girls look so grown up....and the big feller is growing like a weed. Glad R-dog and I could make it out.
thanksgiving pics
Although we had hockey most of the weekend...we did manage to see 1/3 of our family for a very short thanksgiving supper.
It was delicious of course...and thanks to Uncle - copper the boys enjoyed the whip cream thoroughly.
DH was working...so we enjoyed as best we could without him there...thanks for hosting Grandma and Grandpa Golfer!
epidemic
As I go through my 7th load of laundry tonight...I got to thinkin.
I know...its a stretch....and it hurt a little....but I did.
No wonder we have gotten a little chubby...as a nation...you know. Its a lot of work to be healthy...and a lot of money.
Heres how it goes:
1. I have to do approx 3 more loads of laundry per week. (both DH and I going to the gym, which means 5 sets of "work out clothes" and undergarments extra).
I am NOT one of those skinny beatches who glistens or glows:...I sweat by the bucket...gross...I know....but thats the cards I was dealt with.
2. I have to be more organized. Not a word I particularly like, or have ever been.
Pre-planning meals, and keeping enough fresh stuff around to nibble on. (no more mcd's run at lunch while sitting on the couch thinking about how great chips and dip would be for supper...)
3. Comfy sweats. In particular, Russell name brand. Not only were these made for athletes. These are the best for us more, well-rounded people. Trust me. I have lived in them. literrally. The bra comes off...the sweats go on. I once had a highschool friend tell me (after I asked what the "dress code" for a function was)..."anything but sweats". I told her that I had more in the closet than sweats. Then immediately ran out to buy something.
So...now I spend more on water bills, laundry soap, gym memberships, "healthy food", "stylish clothing", and soon, therapy. Cause I am grouchy. real grouchy.
I have no more "me" time. You know...where you sit in front of the tv...with a bowl of popcorn and a handsome doctor in front of you. Cause now...I have to do all the "good for you stuff..."
no wonder its an epidemic.

weekend updates...
Birthday bash on friday night for the boys' newest cousin. (by marriage...thank you auntiedelorraine!!) and they worked up a big time sweat.
It was in the highschool gym and they loved every minute of it. Especially when the mom took them to the 4th floor (where its supposedly haunted....and definitely is haunted with bats)....sounded like a lot of fun. I got to have a drink with them...cause its been too too long.
Saturday was Retzkys first hockey game as a Baron. It was a great first game...lots of action, but he ended up losing 3-2. Bit scary to start out with a quick two goals against...but they started to fight a bit harder at the end. Retzky also ended up on the scoresheet!! (With a penalty!! That we could see coming for about 3 minutes before it happened).
Then we got to see part of the Rider game at Auntie Dallys house...the beer was good...but DH thought he was getting called to work, so off we went.
Sunday...I took one boy off to K-town for my only nephews baptism (will post on that one) while C-man stayed back for his hockey evaluations (thank goodness for Louise!!)
will keep you posted on that ....

Anti martha is making a comeback.
DH and his mom tonight made fun of my lemon dessert...again.
Ok...I get it ...it was funny at one point....and to a few others its still funny....but I am getting better. sorta.
The last three weeks we have been "meal planning". Which basically means that three days of the week, I dont have to decide what to cook. The boys each get to pick something.
So...we have had everything from lasagne, to steak, to pizza and its soooooo wonderfully nice not to have to decide.
This week...I am trying a fettuccine with shrimp (came from a fitness magazine and looks delish....even fancy....and I dont even eat shrimp!!)
So...Marthy....look out....the cougar mama is gunning for you...

this that and thother...
Long ago are the days when I used to have something witty to say. Now, its just a rambling of my "to-do's and to-dones"....get used to it. I got nothin else. spent.
This week was hockey every day (big surprise). Retzky had his first practise with his new "team". C-man told me he doesnt want to go to hockey anymore. He wants to go back to Sask-Can (spring hockey). He is finding it "boring". Could be a long season for him.
DH has been working hard, and he finally convinced me to go to the gym with him...so we signed up for a year commitment. He has went every day he has been home, and I have been going on my lunch hours.
If anyone has suggestions for workouts where you do not sweat, but still get a crazy good work out and can get back to work in time....would be appreciated!!
Tonight- came home from delivery apples (finally) - and found a six inch long poking spikey thing coming out of the couch. Not a cushion...but the side of the couch. No amount of hammering/sawing/you-name-it-ing can get it back in.
So...I might need all new furniture...and dining room set. Just saying.
Hope you are all doing well...wish I could visit you all during thanksgiving (or that you could come visit us)....take care!!

Weekend is over....whew....
Well..it was a long hard fought battle...but we made it through the weekend.
I have to say friday night at the United Way Comedy night was an absolute blast!! I took my date, Louise and we headed out for drinks, comedy and well, more drinks. The leg guitar came out, we sang karaoke into wine bottles at the top of our lungs, we read dirty books with our "older" guests....it was hilarious!!!
Oh yes...then we had hockey hockey hockey, football and hockey.
Retzky made the Tier 1 AA Barons hockey team...and he is pretty excited. I think this year will be a learning curve for them as there is only 1 returning player and the coaches are new to it as well...it should be interesting.
C-man had his first ice time as well, and boy was it like watching paint dry (compared to the spring hockey we got to enjoy). He was bored to tears, but tried his best to have fun. His new skates work good...and hopefully wont grow any more (as he is the same SIZE as Retzky!!)
This week...hockey tues/weds/thurs/fri/sat/sun. Monday off...what to do...
Any suggestions?

early morning report...
This morning I am very groggily waking up to rain. not snow. rain.
We have had a whirlwind weekend so far....friday night was sooo much fun that I will have to blog about that night seperately.
Retzkys tryouts have been going great. I could be really braggy braggy here...but i'm trying not to be (plus I havent been drinking!! Its only 8 am!!)
To tell you how exhausted he was from 1.5 hours of hockey in the am, then 1.5 hours of football, then coming home for lunch and rollerblading with his brother (best garage sale purchase ever!), then 1.5 hours of tryouts again, followed (in 15 minutes ) with an hour of pre-conditioning.
He was asleep on the couch at 8:30!!! For those of you know that know him, and those of you that dont.....this is an AMAZING feat.
1st...he does not sleep. Hardly ever. That kid stays awake for a long long long time.
2nd...he doesnt fall asleep if the tv is on. Especially a hockey game.
They are off to the rink again this morning, so I am going to have to go catch up with them, and bring the birthday present ....
C has his first ice time this afternoon and he is bursting at the seams...I'd get out of his way, if I were you!

Busiest weekend...everrrrr??!!
Well..can you guess that hockey is around the corner...our weekends have started to fill up already.
Friday night R-dog has his first tryout camp for the Tier 1 team. C-man has a birthday party at the same time, while I am supposed to be going to a United Way Comedy night. (got the sitter all lined up, now DH is off...typical...but good)
Saturday bright and early R has his second tryout for the tier team, then both boys have football game. Right after lunch R has his second ice time of the day for the tryout.
As soon as his second ice time is done, the preconditioning starts for his age group. So he will have 3 ice times and one football game.
Sunday...bright and early is the last of the Tier tryouts. He should have a good idea when that one is said and done whether he makes the team or not. Then, there is a birthday party (3rd in 4 days). When the party is over, C gets his first pre-conditioning ice time.
Sunday approx 730 pm we will all be in bed. tired. messy house. happy.
