wicked wind...

Last night we had a wicked little wind whip through the west. I'm sure most of you reading this had the same thing.

We enjoyed our first rain of the summer (seriously, how many black clouds can you have with zero moisture in them?), but it came with the howling winds. Apparently over 90 kms/hour...

I think poor DH's grass seed went with the wind...but only time will tell.

He's still not home from Wainwright yet, I am heading into work for the morning, so Louise graciously offered to watch the hoodlums.

DH found out yesterday he is coming back to NB...and for now he is pretty excited. So am I...this will mean he is off for the weekend, and no more driving...yeah!!

Take care over the longweekend...you know where we will be...(minus one day...the boys and I are headed into cirque de soleil with my mom!!)

Any ideas??

Please help.

Looking for new easy, quick, healthy recipe ideas for the lake. Something maybe that I could prepare ahead of time, or is very easy to prepare.

really really really sick of hotdogs already. and its only june.

getting greener

I think in one of my top tens, I had mentioned that I would like to start being more environmentally friendly.

So..last week I managed to only put 1 bag of garbage in the container. The rest went into recycling...or my new compost bin.

The bin puts all our grass clippings and food wastes in and the city composts it for us....sweet....

Also am trying to clean with only home made cleaners (or at least until my others run out)....

We are getting there...next step to reduce consumption....

the graduation pic with teacher

His teacher and the TA....I think most of the boys in the class had a slight crush...he was no exception...

The big Graduation day (for now)

The pizza song in french...all I heard was pepperoni...???
We heard about the big Whale all week...his proudest moment on stage...
The two wallflowers hiding when we were supposed to be dancing...
The big C getting his diploma (the other C)
C-man with his diploma...

The baptism..and our adventure.

This time, we swore we would make it on time. This time, we left early. This time, we missed a turnoff-came back around- missed it again - then got it right.

This time, we got to go on the ferry. We also saw a doh and her baby fawn, a racoon, and foxes.

Beautiful weather...great family get together...here are some pics....

The first ferry ride...(get your minds out of the gutter!! FERRY)

its over!!

Now summer can officially start. Soccer is over. No...SOCCER IS OVER!!! Yeah!!

I think the last time the kids were done soccer, we said it was our last time ever...but really it is this time, right?

Ball next year, right?

The most exciting thing in soccer this week, was that I killed a gopher on the way to. I almost hurled...the boys are full of questions. Now every time they see a dead gopher they remind me ....ewwww

Planning on going to Macdowell on sunday for Ry's baptism. DH is God (according to Dylly) and so we must attend. heehee

thank god the boys cant drive

What was that judge in QB thinking?

ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. First off, I have to say thank god the boys cant drive, therefore, cant go hire a lawyer to sue me. Second, if they managed to hitchhike to a lawyers office-they better not come home wanting me to feed and clothe them.

Third, they better be prepared for much much worse than not going on a field trip.

aarrghghhhh...things that you just cannot believe....

weekend extravaganza....

Louises garage sale was a success!! We made a fair bit of money and got rid of a ton of clothes, toys, etc. Plus they had us over for supper two nights in a row.

I'm telling you FB knows how to throw together some gourmet s--t!! (and you too Louise). The first night was gourmet pizza, the second it was "to die for" bbq porkchops. AND AND AND his AMAZING Margaritas....which I usually dont enjoy. But, FB's were awesome. Must do it again...real soon...you know we have a blender at the lake...hint hint

Then, saturday was the wedding. We werent invited to the ceremony as it was a casual, but beautiful moment at their cabin. Sounded like it was great...and made it just in time before the rain and hail came.

We met up with them later for the supper, program and dance. She looked beautiful and so did the hall. DH was getting called to work and left early...and I decided to follow. I was planning on coming back to partay with the girls, but my guts said otherwise. plumbing problems. dont ask.

Then Sunday the boys and I slept in-until 9am!!! They helped me with some much overdue housework...then a few of us headed to the ball diamonds for some scrub. It was a great fathers day....even though DH wasnt there to enjoy it. Gotta love the railway. He was gone for an extra day...so gone saturday night and home just now....

We are off to C-mans 2nd last game, with a windup after (pizza and sugar...i think). Soccer is winding down!!!!!!

i know its friday!!

You dont have to tell me twice. I know its friday. I know I havent updated since tuesday.

Its hard to believe....but sometimes there isnt much to report. The boys are down to their last two soccer games. Not sure that the oldest is too too much interested anymore....ball next year, I think.

I helped Louise out with her garage sale thursday and today...possibly a bit tomorrow. I made about $80 today...and spent half that on benches for up at the cabin. Should be good around the pit....I'm sure I'll spend the rest at the wedding tomorreo

Its the big wedding...babysitter and everything....we havent had a sitter in at least a year (not including parents etc...) so it should be fun.

Although not sure that DH can make it.......will have to wait and see,,,,

one more pre-prequel

This time up the cochin hill, it was just me and R-dog
His favorite pose...still wants to be a goalie!! aarrghhh
With a coast line like this...who needs Mexico? Gotta love the view....

Okay more pics...the prequel

Forgot the ear plugs...so head band worked in a pinch...
Almost had the whole family in this one....
Havent laughed this hard in a while. The "flirty one" loved the grandmas!!! (check out where his little hand is...)
When no kids were around Auntie J was his playmate...
A little game of twister....

pics from the lake this weekend

The beautiful red head...
Our new firepit spot...still needs a bit of work....
Going for a quick swim in the "hot tub"
Cuzn underwear's new toy...the kids all got a quick spin....
The girls checking things out....

pics from the lake II...

Dyllys rock n roll moves.
Her first quad ride...a little in the bush...but still pretty good.
My two polar opposites. One with out of control locks, the other with none.
My nicest photo...with the youngest...cool shades...
The little "flirty one"...too cute...also took a quick spin on the quad, until Syd scared him.

she's back....

Yeah...my camera is back. But, I do have to say, that I am MIGHTY disappointed.

She travelled to Edmonton, back through K-town, then back home. In three separate vehicles. With all that excitement NOBODY took any racey photos.

There is not one anonymous naked person, not one toothbrush in an inconspicuous place, not one "random gnome" shot.

Seriously...if you're going to kidnap her...please make it worth my wait, by giving me something to get angry about.....sheesh!!

ps...thanks to all who babysat her.....she may not be much....but she has done well for me!!

for all the farmers/gardeners

Okay...I've just got back from washing my truck, we should be getting rain any time now.

Sorry...I dont think I will wash it near the weekend...the rain during the week will have to suffice.

in a fog...

Sorta like Malkin...I've been in a fog lately.

Think it must be lack of sleep, too much soccer, too much weekend fun and maybe a combination of other things...but I really dont know what we've been doing the last two weeks.

Soccer has been going well, and I think both boys only have 5 games left each. The weather has been cooperating, not too many mosquitoes and really not a lot of headaches. Other than for some reason both teams are ALWAYS short players. Like half the team not showing up. (which can make things interesting)

Now that June has arrived its field trip time...I swear they dont go to classes....just fun things....NOT WHEN I WAS A KID...NO SIRREE...haha

Track and field, then swimming fun days, childrens festival, teachers farm, friends farm, "fun day at school" which includes sandcastles and ice cream sundaies, kindergarten grad, and two more swim days. That should just about round off the year.

DH and a few of his cronies golfed in a memorial tourney on monday. He has golfed in it every year since we moved here. And every year, I expect that he will come home a little off balance. This year was no exception...and he came home with a beautiful set of steak knives and a SONY stereo...nice. (oh yes, and a headache)

weekend excursions...

I really have to get a key cut for the cabin. For some reason..only DH has one...and when the boys and I were on our way, DH had the key in Watrous.

So, change of plans and we headed out to Martensville to visit the fam-damily.

It turned out to be a great time. Garage sales galore, great sunshiney weather, lots of visiting with friends and family, quick shopping trip to the city, and then kids od'ing on junk food. What more could you ask for?

Then sunday, I did some minor house renos...tore apart part of the basement closet and ripped out some carpet....then took off a bunch of things hanging on the wall (not even sure what some of them were for?).

After that we were invited out for supper to Cochin...which we of course had to take in....the kids went tubing behind a seadoo....and we had some great laughs....

Then...with all the excitement I forgot to call UNCLE FREDDY...for his BIRTHDAY WISHES....sorry!!! (I guess when I am almost as old as you, your memory starts to go) Also...big 40th birthday greetings to K-girl...yes I know who you are!! Have a great birthday week you two!!

Track and field

What a beautiful day it ended up being. Its so nice when the weather cooperates with events..

I got to watch the boys in the morning...then hand them over moola for candy...then I was "in charge" of the hurdles. (Which, by the time I got there, was almost done)

C-mans group got participation ribbons for any event they went through. They had a blast with long jump, longest throw, hurdles, tug-o-war, base running, and numerous others.

R-dogs group had first-fourth place ribbons for the first year. I think he ended up with two firsts and a fourth place. He didnt really seem to be trying all that hard...too much excitement in one place, I guess.

Again...no pics....camera still hasnt made its trekk to NB....soon I am just going to buy one....cant wait much longer.

Welcome

Hello! Welcome to our diary. Little snippets from our day ....here in Southtown. Enjoy.
