Mole Be Gone!

Saturday afternoon, on the drive from PA to Saskatoon, Retzky was in the back seat and C-man in the front.  And the teasing started.  At first it was a poke, then it was a "massage".....those of you with siblings or kids know how it goes.

Then he noticed that C-man had a "mole"....so if you have seen the movie Austin Powers....the chant started....Moley moley moley moley.  He was mortified.  We thought it was strange that we had never noticed that he had a mole before.  It was in the hairline, so we thought that it was always covered and not noticed.

Older brother had to take a picture of it to show him, and the teasing continued.  I had finally had enough and said that I didnt want to hear another word about it.

Heard a few grumblings on sunday, then again monday.  C-man was telling me monday night that his mole was "cut" so I finally took a look.  To our surprise, it wasnt a new mole - IT WAS A TICK!! Gross...

I might have over reacted a little (it seems to be a theme)....and thank the railway gods that DH was home to get it out.....Now we are all itchy from head to toe!!

I guess the ticks are quite abundant this year - so take care!!

Rollin down the Highway

Been keeping that Toyota running....well, and the Chevy too for that matter.  This weekend we were at Cochin Ocean for a big 40th on Friday.  Then ventured out to a football Jamboree in PA on saturday.  And it wouldnt be complete without heading to Regina for hockey on sunday!!  whew!!

Retzkys nickname might have to be changed, since he asked if it would be pretty cool if our sons were like the Getzlaf boys.  (and btw, I wouldnt!!  haha)  He had a blast with his two "mini" games.  He was on offence for the majority of the time.  I believe he got 3 TD's (he says 4....but that one was called back due to an offensive foul.  This foul, might also have been his fault.....)  It was crazy to watch how aggressive he is out there, and the team played so well together.  One of his best friends is amazingly fast and got at least 4 TD's.  And the kids on  D-gate were even tougher to get through (they only allowed 1 TD/game).  And the rain held off until we were done!!

Then off to Regina to watch a couple of practises with C-mans new team.  The coaches have been phenomonal, and the kids are getting along famously.  His wrist seems to be a whole lot better.  Its still not 100% but its coming along.  He managed to get through both practises and wasnt in pain at all.  We are off to the peg shortly for his first tourney.  Try to work some kinks out before the big tourney in Edmonton.

I have to say a big thanks to G and her much gaggle of young men that let us crash at their house.  They treated us like royalty and hope to return the favor some day!!

DH took the boys to fball and bball practise tonight, so I could clean and pack....so I guess that means I better get at it before they get home!!  Take care!!

About that time

I have apparently waited long enough to post that I am getting some "official" complaints...heehee.  Its been one heck of a whirlwind around here.  This time of year - especially.

Work has been nuts for me - 60 hours/week for about the last 9 weeks and it feels like I am still trying to catch up from behind.  I thought it would have started to slow by now, but low interest rates and good housing prices are keeping us busy!!  DH has been working very steadily as well-gone a lot of the time.

C-man still has ball twice a week and spring hockey on the weekends.  This past weekend was the last weekend for one team and the first weekend for the other.  Unfortunately, he took a nasty hit from behind, where he ended up hurting his wrist  (could have been much, much worse).  We think he will be fine, but he is in sort of a "half cast" until we get it x-rayed again.  (Most likely friday). He ended up missing 2 games with his spring team and the 2 exhibition games with the other team.  If his wrist is  all good, he has to be in Regina for two practises on sunday and then leave for Winnipeg on Weds.

Retzky is as busy during the week.  Baseball twice and football twice.  Man, am I loving him play football.  The kid has some natural hands....plus, he can use all his pent up energy to hit people (that isnt his brother, or his mom).  Its awesome to watch!  This weekend will be his first game against out of town kids when we travel to PA on saturday.

Its a whirlwind extravaganza.  Cochin ocean friday, PA saturday and Regina sunday.....whew.  Now, you know why I havent been updating!!
