great visit

Last night, DH and I ventured out to Aquadeo. Neither of us have been there for quite some time.

The original plan was to go golfing with some long lost friends. When the golf didnt pan out, we sat at their trailer and had a great visit.

At one point, AnL and I were pretty tight. But, of course, becomes increasingly difficult to stay in touch through the years.

Not even the skunk walking through the site could keep us from our chat. Got to see her beautiful growing girls, went for a small walk to visit her in-laws and re-connect.

It was a great evening.

Now...today will not go fast enough. I will work until 1 or 2 ish....then burn rubber all the way to K-town to get my hairs cut and pick up the boys....yeah!!!

ok...enoughs enough...

Okay...now its been three days. I'm ready for my boyz to come home.

Talked to them on the phone today, C-man said he misses me and wants me to come and get him. Retzky didnt say it...but he kept asking me when I was going to be there...so I KNOW THEY MISS ME TOO...(had to convince myself of that)

As it worked out, they didnt end up in swimming lessons, which was a bummer. But they have got to go swimming everyday. Sounds like a chipped tooth (again) and a couple belly flop stories.

Now..I am off to get them on friday and trying to get in to Saskatoon for a few days. The only thing is ...the damn dog. Not sure what I can do with her....so...if anyone wants to come and kidnap her...please let me know....

Thanks!!

FOR SALE

OH YES. I ALMOST FORGOT.

THE SILVER BULLET IS UP FOR SALE.

IF ANYONE IS NEEDING AN UGLY DUCKLING...THIS ONE IS SURE TO PLEASE. IT IS GREAT ON GAS(BETTER THAN A MINIVAN)...FITS 7 COMFORTABLY...AND NEEDS A TEENY BIT OF ATTENTION...THEN LISTEN UP.

THE CAMRY WAGON IS YOUR CAR. SHE ISNT PRETTY...BUT SHE'S A STURDY OLE GAL.

OH YES...I WILL THROW IN A 2 YEAR OLD LAB TO SWEETEN THE POT!!

First day is the hardest?

Today, I was male-less. With the boys gone to the grandparents, I headed to work.

Once I was safely gone to work...DH called me to tell me he was heading up to the lake!! (I'm sure he waited until I was not within distance). So..in the thirty degree weather...he is up having fun with his brudder and seester....lucky bugger.

He should be home tomorrow am...and believe me I will make him pay...hahahahhawwww

In the mean time...I have partially cleaned the garage, went for a walk and now I am heading out for a bike ride. Must do something or I will find something to snack on....

Survived another one...

Another weekend has come and gone.

Skipped out of work at noon on friday...(i dont know what it is, but there is a unexplainable "pull" that starts about 11 on fridays...)..to head up to the cabin. We "forgot" the lifejackets and ear plugs for the kids swimming lessons.

So...we had a great warm day...then with the black clouds looming...decided to head home. This time we went through Turtleford hoping to see our friends. (they were there with their sons baseball team). Holy cow...I have never seen such black clouds, swirling so angrily before. When we got there, the rain started coming down and we headed on back to the ranch. (And apparently missed a little tornado that touched down on Turtle Lake).

Saturday....we were invited over to Louise's for supper and FOOTBALL. Of course, supper was fabulous...the slushy drinks were amazing...but the Football game was the BEST. We havent seen a game this year...and it was a nice treat.

I hate to bad mouth our Riders, but in the past...you might as well shut the tv off in the fourth quarter. You knew what was going to happen. But this year...the fourth is the best to watch.

Great effort-again. (Now I hope I dont jinx you!!)

Sunday was slow moving. Did a bit of yardwork, and watched a bit of the Masters...then waited for my mom and dad to show up and steal the boys away.

Once that was done...I resumed my position on the couch.

i am without as well...

Just like bizzymama...I am without kids as well.

DH took them up to the lake yesterday morning and probably will be returning tomorrow some time. Unfortuntely, I have not been getting a lot done, like bizzymama.

Instead...I have been trying to excercise more,,and work. boo hiss...Although I am 3 pounds away from a new set of numbers, that I like. But my house and more importantly, my yard are in a shambles.

Last night, I picked about 3 bags of weeds...and I only have about 30 more to go. I still have yet to get the lawnmower out yet either...have lots to do before they get home...

A grande weekend

It wasnt so bad missing out on the parade and the street dance.

We made our own fun. First night, at the neighbors (nickname still to be determined) we invited ourselves over for supper after the men downed some trees. Then, we settled in for a good evening of lime gin, raspberry vodka and a lotta beer. Really laughed a lot and got re-acquainted.

Second day, moving just slightly slower, I was able to get the grass cut before FB and the Other C showed up. We were pleasantly surprised to have a house guest...Then GnD showed up as well.

The afternoon started getting really warm, so just "one beer" and "one last one" later turned into an all evening affair at our house. There are a few pictures to post...once I get them sent to me I will put them on. A few - however - are X-rated and not suitable (but I'll show you another time!!)

DH was gone to work, so we called him a few times to let him in on some of the good jokes...the kids were all well behaved and the parents - not so much.

Sunday....not doing so well for a few of us. For one of the group - he had his own spinning show the previous night. Dally and I pushed through the hangover and loaded 4 truckloads of wood-ok...we had some help. Then, my ma and pa showed up for a short visit.

It was short - but really nice. Not expected, but they are always welcome to come help us work...hahahah

Anyway...a good time was had by all and I believe DH just called and he is heading up there for another....

same old same old...

I was asked by Retzky a long time ago, why we didnt attend church. While swallowing hard, I said with hockey taking up sundays in winter, and going to the cabin in the summer we dont have a lot of sundays left over.

So, with that being said, my blog gets pretty monotonous. Hockey hockey hockey....then cabin cabin cabin.

Today is no different- we are missing the Battleford parade and the illustrious street dance (or so I've heard)...and heading up to beautiful Brightsand. This way, I dont have to worry about sitters, how I dress (thank you very much lake neighbor!!), or even showering!! (Cause we all smell the same around the firepit!!)

DH got home around 3am, and as soon as he wakes up....we will be off. I have made chocolate covered strawberries for the occassion-and was supposed to have made cupcakes...but Swingtown was on...and how could I concentrate???

ttyl...have a great weekend...

oh so lonely

Its not often I say this, but man its been extremely quiet here the last few days.

DH took the boys to the lake, for what he called a quick overnight trip. But, the railroad had other plans and they were able to stay for two sleeps.

They only called about three times to rub it in. "its beautiful on the beach", "dont worry, we're not having any fun", "i've only had one beer....one after another".

GnD are up there as well as our lake friends from down the way. They asked me to play hooky yesterday, but guilt got the better of me, so now I am getting ready to go to work...

Although it is raining now, so I'm not feeling so bad.

While they were gone, I have went on bike rides, ran on the treadmill, did a killer walk with Louise (plenty of hills), cleaned out their rooms and thrown things away that hopefully they dont remember, copius amounts of laundry and got to watch all "my shows"....now its time for them to come home.

Lake stuff

This past weekend the boys and I headed to the lake. whoa..let me back up a step.

Thursday DH headed up to the lake, with our two plus our good buddy...the other C. Weather was great. Got to take the boys tubing, they did some motorbiking and some quadding.

Got to eat junk food and drink pop. Sounded good.

Unfortunately for DH the sleepover part didnt go so well. The other C had a tough go...dont know if he was over tired...or just hadnt had a sleepover in awhile...but there wasnt much sleep involved in the sleepover.

When he got home he told his mom (Louise) that he was soo hungry and all he got to eat was junk food. (afterwards DH told me he made sirloin steak for supper with roasted potatoes, mushrooms and peppers....for breakfast home made hashbrowns with bacon and eggs..???)

So..needless to say, dont think Louise and FB will be sending him up with us again since we so graciously beat him and forced him to eat junk food...So sorry!!

Anywho....DH got called to work, came home, then I headed straight back up with my two. We were under the assumption that DH would come up on sat to meet us. Unfortunately the railway had other plans.

But..in the end it worked out. We had rain friday night...but saturday and sunday werent bad at all. We had a good couple of hikes, a canoe ride and then went and helped our neighbors with a bit of tree cuttin.

So...now we have some more wood to stack, split and sort....but you gotta love it....next weekend...plan to bake again....

read a blog the other day...

Ok...so here is a downer read. Please read at your own discretion...

I occassionally read other bloggers. Maybe thats why I havent been updating as much lately. (nah..probably cause i've been extremely busy)

The last post I read still bothers me a bit. She has made a decision not to have children. I applaud people for making this decision. For some it would be an easy one...for others it would be a tough one to get to, I'm sure.

She goes on to say, that she has a good friend that has told her the news of her upcoming pregnancy. To make a story short, she now has stated publicly that she will be saying goodbye to that friendship. In her previous experience she has lost almost all or all of her friends once they have had children. For that, I am sorry.

I know there is more to it than what I have said here. But I found this story really disturbing. I understand its her experience...but surely this cant be the case for everybody???

What I know is this. I have never truly been one of "those friends"...you know who you are....G....Auntie Velvis.

These friends have an INCREDIBLE memory. They send cards, gifts, flowers...have a call to you for everything. AND I SOOOO APPRECIATE people like you!! Unfortunately, that is not me.

I have a hard time remembering dates. My own childrens births, my familys birthdays/anniversaries....and probably important stories have been re-told to me thousands of times.

I was like this before children, and even worse after children. I can usually make great acquaintances and I have a lot of them. But, I do only have a few really close good friends. These are the ones that forgive me for not going out with them for cocktails (because maybe possibly I am home with a sick kid)...they forgive me for not attending their big games (because maybe i feel crappy about my boobs aching and now sagging from breast feeding)....they also are there for me even if I havent talked to them for six, seven, eight months.

We can pick up right where we left off. Nobody has a hurt feeling, nobody cares to let that bother them. Because we love each other.

So, I'm sorry to my friends without children. And, for that matter to my friends that do. I love you. I havent forgotten about you. Its not that I dont want you in my life because I have a husband or children. Thats just me.

Take it or leave it. But either way,I'll still love you.

Okay...now I have that off my chest...thanks for listening.

Cirque stories...

Because there were no cameras allowed in the building...the only pictures I got were on the way to the show.

I've told you about the wrestling match, with the bloodiness. I've told you about the cows blocking my way (lucky to have made it out alive). I think I've told you that C-man now wants to joing the Cirque.

But the show was amazing. The colors, the music, the comedy just to name a few things. For four little bodies (and two older ones) to sit through 3 hours without a complaint is something.

There were guys on poles...pulling themselves up with ease. Jumping from one another without so much as a quiver.

There was a performer on a bike doing stunts (this is why C-man wants to joing the circus...to do bike tricks).

There were two girls (who look like twins) on the swingy rope thingy (help me out here....sorta like a trapeeze) that had me screaming for them. One flipped around and the other caught her with just her toes....they were hanging on to each other with their FEET....it was mind boggling.

Then, there were the acrobatics from the other thingy that looked like a platform swing??? They would shoot each other into the air and land in all different positions and an different people.

I AM SO GLAD WE ATTENDED.

Thanks again...mom.

Some pics from Cirque

My beautiful mommy with my beautiful nieces...and oh yeah, my strapping young lads...thanks for the show mom!!
The GD mangy beasts that wouldnt leave the road when I honked my ferocious Toyota horn....get off the road you friggin-frackers!! Thank goodness a big truck from AB came and pathed this path for me to get through. I know what you are thinking...you go country girl!! (my kids have never laughed that hard)
Still doing the Cochin hill...but now they are sick of posing for pics. C-man is the quickest...Retzky enjoys the stop...but takes his time to smell the dandelions....me...I'm just trying to do it twice now without hurting myself.

bits n pieces

Friday - headed up to the lake. It was an early night for my boyz, cause first thing saturday am...we headed off to Stoon for Cirque de Soleil.

What a treat!!! (minus the trip "incident"...when Retzky punched his brother in the nose...by "accident" and both barrels were pouring red oil!!)

The show itself was absolutely incredible. We werent sure what to expect...but adults and kids loved loved loved it...would recommend it to anyone.!!

Now...C-man says he is not going to be an NHL player...he is going to be in the circus!!

Welcome

Hello! Welcome to our diary. Little snippets from our day ....here in Southtown. Enjoy.
