And I dont know how that hockey pic got in there, but it did, and now I cant figure out how to take it off....so....there it is!

Celebrate good times, c'mon

Theres a party going on right here, a celebration to last throughout the weekend.

C-man had a one day tourney near the city this weekend, and we were all able to make it. (that HAS to be a first).

He had some great visitors (Auntie Jan and Grandpa and Grandma Golfer...and G (she was MINE). The tourney was good....but very long and very cold.

I had to dig through the garbage to find the winning 50/50 ticket that DH threw out....but it was worth it!! Won $109 smackers to put towards our fine dining experience later.

Ditched the boys with grandparents and headed off to the Station Place for filet mignon and lobster....or steak and shrimp scampi....it was DIVINE....wonderful experience, made even better with GnD. Then met a few friends for bevvies at a local hangout. Could have gotten outta control if DH and I werent so old.......so instead we behaved our selves and were home before we turned into pumpkin martinis.

Yesterday, being family day, we headed out to Jackfish to ice fish and sled with some friends. Great fun day, so much so, that the boys headed out again today to fish with some other good buddies. This time they caught a couple of doozies. (Retzky says his was 10lbs) As I was working...there are no pics...but they had a blast again. The rest of the week, I'm sure will be boring as DH is now back to work.

its a little goofy...i know...

Top three ridiculous household chores I can not do...or chose not to...

1. Take the plug out of the sink if the dishwater is cold (gross!)
2. Grate cheese. (inevitably a piece of my finger ends up in the casserole)
3. Empty the dust pan into the garbage...apparently I like to leave "piles".

Long winter Blah-Days...

Serious lack of vitamin D around here.

Have lost all motivation to finish the basement project. For about a week now all I have left is the trim and door paint...and do you think I can get it done? nope...just moping around wishing for spring.

Hockey is still keeping me really busy, although Retzky is just about done. They came up against the #1 team in the league for playoffs and got their you know whats kicked tonight. Second game on saturday for the best out of three...then its all over. Except for the provincial team, which comes up against LaRonge...just not sure when.

C-man has a couple of games this weekend, and a tourney in Asquith next weekend. (my birthday weekend...yah!...insert sarcasm here)

Then...for sure once hockey is over...this house will be ready to sell!!! right?

quick update

Quick call to C-man last night....they won the A side at a tourney in Aberdeen. Two blowouts to get there, and a squeaker to win it. I think he said he got 3 goals and a couple of assists on the day....then watersliding all night....should have him back here this morning to play a game here in town.

Retzky just finished playing another NB team to make it to the B-final. He plays that at 4.

So, game at 8am, C-mans game at 11:30, work a shift at 2:00 and play at 4. I'm off to get the slowcooker filled up....

tourney madness

We're full swing into february and what does that mean? More hockey changes than a newborn baby...

This weekend Retzky has his home tourney. They played PA last night in a late night affair (got off the ice close to 11) and won 6-1. (he got two assists) By the sounds of things, we were more worried about hitting than anything and played a lot of the game short handed. I didnt get a chance to see as I was working at another rink, same time. (the joys of running a tourney).

With that win, they play today at 10am against a Saskatoon team.

C-man is off to Aberdeen. (not without some changes of his own). The plan was for him to go to Aberdeen with his affiliate team, as his own team didnt have anything on the schedule. Then yesterday they added a game for saturday. Since we didnt want to break the news of no watersliding to the boy...he is going. He plays at 10:45 and 1:45 today. He got to go it alone with the team.

I think I would rather be watersliding with him....cause I sure dont want to get back working the raffle table/50 50/scorekeeping madness that waits for me....but I'll do it anyway...with a big smile....

+4 today. Beautiful, sunny, then rainy day. Really makes me think of spring...then summer...then the lake! damn i miss that place.

The renos have almost neared completion. Just a few touch ups with paint, and we can move furniture back in!!

I will have pictures up shortly.

Then a major clean up/throw out. (if anyone needs anything at all...now is the time to ask before I give it away!)

If all goes as planned, we will have our house listed for sale the beginning of march. And, like other sis says, if it was meant to be, it was meant to be.

And if not, I'll get to enjoy the renos for a little bit!!

kids say the darndest things...

Unfortunately, I cant put everything my boys say on this blog. They must get their ideas from their fathers!!

Yesterday, Retzky was talking about all the "dating" going on in his class. (in his words...even the geekiest ones are dating)

So, we asked him if he was "dating" anyone...he said he asked this special girl a few times and she kept putting it off....so yesterday he said to her "you know you cant be single forever"

HAHAHAHAHAHA....btw.....he's 11.

Now today, she said yes. And already he says if they are still dating by Valentines he needs to buy her something....oh good grief!!
