i know..i know!!

Geez...its been a stressful few weeks. Work is crazy again, lots and lots of activities, and year end projects for the kids.

I know what I'll do....I'll spend some money - that will make me feel better (for the first few minutes anyway, until the guilt hits)

Yes, thats it...I'll spend money. And now...just the perfect thing.

A F$@K'ing Water heater!!

Just what I always wanted.

(i did catch it in time before the whole basement flooded)

question of the day

On our way to soccer last night, DH and I were talking about the upcoming baptism of our 4th niece...

We told the boys we were going and that we are going to be her "god parents".

So, replies the oldest...."Does this mean you can grant wishes?" ....no honey, thats godmother...

ps - C-mans soccer match went well...although they lost 2-1...he scored their only goal and hustled his butt the whole time...

change of plans..

Slight change of plans...the boys and I planned to head out to the cabin this weekend. We would have been the only three up there...no Uncle and Auntie beside us...no friends down the way.

So, when I had a heart to heart with the boys...they decided that I might bore them to death with no quadding, or motorbiking, or boating.

So...we're at home. DH and I did some yardwork - now he's leaving for work.

The boys are having a water fight with a neighbor boy...and I am house cleaning....next up...more yardwork.

garage sales are in full swing, baby

I will say this. Before I moved to NB, you would not catch me at a garage sale. Nor would you catch me drinking red wine. Not that the two go together...but now you wouldnt catch me without one or the other.

After Montgomery...I got the bug...and now so do my kids...and I will say this (hoping he doesnt read it)...so does DH. He was asked by his buddy JR to help him load up some stuff at a recent garage sale, when he was hit by this bug.

He found himself wanting to elbow his buddy out of the way for the "deals". He did bring home about 8 pieces of name brand clothes that the boys absolutely love. Now whenever there is a balloon up...the boys make me stop.

So far...we have got some more clothing, a ton of books (chapter books for R-dog including Gretzky autobiography and StarWars, and Pokeman...he's been reading a ton)....but still aluding us are the stacking stools we want for the lake...we will find them.

WALKING WITH THE DINOSAURS

ROAR!!

My boys had a complete blast last night with grandma and grandpa golfer.

From the sounds of things they would do it over and over again.

First, they got to leave a little early so that everybody could get fed. Since the boys got fast food for the trip in (with a minor stop to use the facilites..."why is their ice in the mens toilets, mom?" thats not ice...dont touch it!!!) , they decided to have a TUB of popcorn. (sounded like it was a nice sized dish).

Then, they both had comments about the sound. (something like...I think I'm going to pee my pants....and I think I'm going to freak out)

Once they got home to relay the message...they told me about the dinosaur eating the babies eggs, the t-rex, the beautiful flowers, the loud noises, and how funny it was.

Believe you me (wth does that mean anyway?) they kept me awake on the car ride home. Could have been their excitement or their cotton candy...either way....a big thanks for the night off!!

(oh yes...that way I got to watch the Greys finale ALONE....yahoo!!)

under the weather

Not feeling the greatest since we got home from the lake.

Unfortunate part of working from home,,,is that you still keep working even when you feel like turds.

Wednesday, i worked from home, had a good four hour nap in the afternoon, then slept about 10 hours that night.

Thursday could have done the same, but really had to work (in the branch) then take the boys to the Dinosaur show.

Which, by the way, they ABSOLUTELY loved....they couldnt stop talking about it.

That mean, of course, that we were up until 11 last night...and slept in this morning.

I'm not a spring chicken anymore...it must have been the shooters...or the wine in a can that got to me.

This weekend at the lake...its sleep time. for sure....

few more pics

Dylly found dirt wherever she went (not that my own didnt...) a little less muddy than last year.

I think somebody had to pay FB as the onion bet went in his favor.

The boys after a swim...I'm sure they'll drop sometime before their 20th bday.

Making our turkey supper.....

found a few pics

Here is a few pics of the weekend...still dealing with a few technical difficulties.

The ice literally melted the day the boys were in the water. True May-longweekenders. (There were no adults this year...where was Jumbo?)

C-man sporting one of the toques made by our WONDERFUL neighbor. She knit enough toques for probably 12-15 of us!! D and I have asked her to teach us this summer, and we are going to try to knit beer coozies (yep...i said coooozies...not cowzies).

D must be taking a break after her dance routine by the fire....can you say Shakira (ok..i can say it...might not be able to spell it).

hillbilly martha

Now..I've really gone dun impressed marthy.

This afternoon after getting home from Costco...I had to re-pack all the meat we bought. And organize the lake food from the home food. And do a major tidy up in our whole upstairs living area.

So...with that in mind...I forgot to move the wash to the dryer.

5 minutes before we had to leave...couldnt find C-mans jersey. Sure as poo it was in the wash. So...took it out...blow dryed it as much as I could, and hung it out of the car window on the way to the pitch.

VERY windy night out tonight...just about lost the shirt in transition...but my fast hands caught it at the last minute...and it was almost dry by the time we got there.....

oh yes...they got their butts whooped....probably about 6-2 (C-man got one)...and their team was missing about 4 good players....

but the jersey was dry.

what else have i missed...

I know I've been missing alot of posts lately...so ...here is the soccer "ketchup"...

C-man now has a real coach this week. Last week, I wasnt sure if I wanted to stick around all season long. Monday, his coach showed up (he was away for work). He knows his stuff. They actually had warm ups, drills, fun activities and tons of encouragement.

Now..I might be able to stick it out.

Both boys are doing well...I think they have got at least one goal in each game...R-dog has been playing net a lot ...no A LOT...cannot seem to get that notion out of his head.....must have them sweating...

The weather hasnt been too extreme as of yet...but I have had to bundle in a blanket-twice. Yesterday C-man wore his long underwear underneath his shorts just to be sure, R-dog wore two pairs of shorts...

catchin up...

Went to the lake this weekend. Had a great time...especially on the sunny deck. I swear its the best deck ever for getting sun tans...

DH and I did some work with his new toy...i mean chainsaw...

I think I've said all this before...the part that I missed was that we stopped at the Cochin lighthouse. (This was a tradition we started last year). Last year DH was able to run up to the top...I was able to run about 3/4 of the way.

152 steps of pure hell. This time...I was only able to walk it...and on step 101 I was gasping for breath. DH was able just to walk it all...

The next day...we felt it in our legs ....how bad is that??? So...I guess my running on the treadmill is going to have to increase...or at least the incline.

Cause friday we do the stairs again....

hockey schmocky

and I thought hockey kept me busy.....

Soccer is just as evil at keeping me away from home and the computer and my blog....

So...last night went something like this. Got off work at 4 - picked up kids from school/friends house, stopped them off to drop off back packs etc. Went to boss' house to drop off files and talk about work, went for groceries (desperately low on real food....you know veggies and fruit), came home, ate supper, then left for soccer. Froze our asses off at soccer, and came home. Drove by my house only to see a field on fire about a block from our home.

Being that I am a small town girl and now live in a small town...had to check it out. Bathed the boys, then put them to bed. Then I was freakin exhausted, but I organized my spice party stuff, did a bit more work and went to bed.

No...I did not do dishes...sweep the floor or do any laundry. So now the pile is higher....as tonight we have soccer again....and dropping off the spices....and picking up a turkey fryer for the long weekend....and baking.

so...i might not do any domestic duties again...and the saga continues.

oh yeah...the fire (i found out today) was practise only. no need to be concerned....although I think they could find a better place to practise than right beside my house!! (like maybe beside the place where I work? hmmm?)

Martha has left the building

Once again...I was asked to perform a task that was a certain challenge. Val Gerrard's #1 home-ec student would not disappoint.

But - I was not that student.

R-dogs teacher, had the NERVE to send home a homework project for 2. What is really meant by this, is that she wanted the parents to do it. No...me...the mom to do it.

SEW...is she crazy!! So, I did what anyone in my position would do...hid the homework and hoped it would go away (sounds like my college days).

It did not go away.

Instead it sent the boy into a dizzying array of whines and sighs....."the puppet show wont go on unless my puppet is done".....crazy.

So...I look for material...no chance in hell I'm going to buy material...look for a needle...can t find one.....no thread either. Off to a great start.

In my infinite wisdom, I found an old pair of sweat pants that are ripped, and cut out the damn puppet shape. (in the back of my mind Val Gerrard and my mom are both telling me that sweat pant material is not the best to work with....but I march forward).

Then, since I cant find my one needle and two things of thread....I crazy clue the pieces together. (at 10 pm the night before its due).....

Next morning we wake up to find that the "woodsman" did not stick. not one little bit. not funny.

So....I searched and found the one needle in the bottom of my make up bag...never know when one might need a needle to POKE IT IN MY EYE!!....and sew the freakin puppet.

After the boys missed the bus because of my careful sewing ....I gave careful instructions not to touch the puppet until the show.

Now....I find out we might miss the puppet show all together as we are going to Walking with the Dinosaurs that night.....

happy mothers day..

Happy Mothers Day...to all of our wonderful mommys...have a great day.

Also happy bday to bizzymama....she is her moms mothers day present....hope you had a ton of fun in Edmonchuk...

We spent the weekend at the lake....the boys were supposed to be going to soccer camp...then off to a birthday...but the older one suddenly had stomach problems...so we headed up to the lake instead. Miraculously the stomach problems seem to have worked themselves out.

Still a ton of ice on the lake, but the weather was beautiful....we all have got nice little tans. We raked a bunch of leaves, and got to use DH's new chain saw and mowed a bunch of dead trees....there is still more to do, but its a start.

The boys ran both the quad and the dirtbike out of gas, and ate all our food...so we had to come home.

Now...we are waiting for the pizza man to come...happy mama day to me...DH is cookin.

here we go again...

I'm trying to stay positive, I really am. Last night R-dog had his first soccer game. Opposing team had 15 players. We had 8. Opposing team scored 7 times, we scored once.

Our boy decided to play goal and let it two....both times his defence was still on the other end.

He had fun...thats all that matters, right?

Going to eat a quick supper, then off to c's next matchup.

Work was not bad today...my boss and my boss' boss were there for a bit...I have my "review" tomorrow. I say that lightly, cause we dont really review too terribly much. ttyl

soccer soccer yeah soccer

I have to admit getting older, I thought I was getting better at a few things. One of those things, was my competitiveness. Apparently its not as good as I thought.

C-man had his first soccer last night, and even though he is moved up a division is the biggest (nope second biggest) on his team in the U-8 division. First year with a bigger field, and goalies. After about 5 minutes, the coaches decided (dont know why?) to use sweaters as the goal and cut the field in half.

He didnt even break a sweat. THATS WHY WE HAVE HIM IN SOCCER....so that he sweats profusely!! So...I put on my best smile, and said "good game buddy"....as DH and I gritted our teeth. Maybe wednesday will be better...or the next monday...or the next wednesday...

R-dog goes tonight...first division with refs (is that what they are called in soccer?) so that will be interesting.

DH worked in NB today....and for the rest of the week. So, he's bbqing turkey burgers, with a nice whole wheat roll and I've made up a beautiful veggie salad. aaahhhh...summer is here....have to eat extra healthy to balance out the beer consumption....

aaahhh...the lake

I think I may just have had a deja view (ok...i have no idea how to spell that...but you know what i mean...)

We went up to the cabin today. Brought along our buddy C. The boys were outside all day...made a good fire...roasted some hot dogs....took the quad out for a spin....checked out the fort....searched for frogs...checked out all different kinds of animal poop....visited the horses....and ate junk food.

I cleaned.

Washed walls, windows, cleaned the cupboards, the biffy, aired out the blankets, through out some crap out that I'm sure we didnt need (its DH's fault if anything is missing), and did inventory.

Doesnt sound quite so fun, does it?

The weather again...was super....so the deck was the place to be to work on my sunburn from yesterday. There was still a bit of snow...and the lake was still mostly ice....but WE WERE STILL AT THE LAKE.....nice.

yeah yeah...no pictures....talk to that sister o mine.

M.G.S Rocks...

This year, it did not disappoint.

The weather was perfect. Right about 18 degrees....not much wind....and not enough clouds.

The company was great-again. It was Dally and her mom, Lady Di, Louise and myself. We walked for miles, visiting as we walked. Ran into quite a few people we knew along the way. Gawked at BEAUTIFUL houses, amazing landscaping and oh yeah...hit some garage sales. Ok....lots of garage sales.

Amazingly, we still had a lot of room in the back of my Highlander...so obviously we didnt buy enough. Quite disappointed...as I was trying to spend all my money. Ended up with books, clothes for the boys (gotta love garage sale name brands), some sport stuff, an extra helmet for the lake, life jacket, paint rollers (I'm very ambitious)...and who knows what else for less than $40....

The few of us ended the day off with sunburns...oh yeah baby summer is around the corner...and just a few beverages....would have loved to consume copius amounts of the liquid...but had to drive home....boo!!

Next year is on the schedule already....virgin MGS'er Louise is coming again!!

Friday, May 02, 2008

thanks Louise....

Heres the boys tooth. Also...the other boy couldnt be outdone...here is his lack of tooth.

hair today, gone tomorrow

going for the hairs cut tomorrow. Havent had it real short in a long time....so what the heck.

My hair is not long enough for a pony, and that will not do for the lake. Do not want to live in a ball cap....so....trying to figure out how short I'll go.

Would take a picture when its all done, but sister stole my camera. damn

just one more day....

to get to the weekend...and the garage sale....yeah!!

Okay...work not so bad today. Minor irritations...tried to quit....nobody would listen...apparently I've tried to quit too many times before (called wolf?)

Got home....cleaned out all three vehicles....although the third one didnt get quite as good as the first...they are done. Then, we decided to rake. Which REALLY ticked off R-dog as he wanted to play ball. So, he through a fit. (which he has been doing a lot of lately if he doesnt get his own way).

After a lengthy discussion he came out to help the rest of us. We really need to get rid of our berry bush/hedge thingys....we found...beer bottles (not our kind), diapers (not my kind), and lots of other fun things tossed in for our enjoyment.

DO not think that poor lawn has been raked for some time...but its done....until it snows again. hardy har har

Then, after supper I went for some groceries....while DH "babysat" as the boys had a friend or two over. When I got back...all the friends were gone, unusually early. Retzky decided to go biking without his helmet....and on a dare....went over a jump.....he went into the air, bike landed on his head.....nice big melonoma sticking out the side of his forehead.

I had a little bit of a meltdown....apparently so did DH as all the kids scattered. Really dont know why kids come over as one of us usually does something to embarrass the heck out of the children.

Welcome

Hello! Welcome to our diary. Little snippets from our day ....here in Southtown. Enjoy.
