overwhelmed

trying to get to sleep...but I cant...

I'm one of those people who make lists...and if I dont do it before bed....its a restless night. Tonight its a bit worse as I am thinking about AB and her family and wishing her all my positive thoughts....

I went to do "one last thing" before bed...we all know what I'm talking about ladies....the one thing that turns into 40....my one thing was to move the wash to the dryer. EXCEPT...it turns out that the load in the wash wasnt done today...it was done yesterday (or maybe the day before??? who really knows)...well now its back in the washing machine...with double soap and febreeze for extra scent...

Then, I remember that only one of my kids has a halloween costume for school tomorrow. Guess I will wake up real early as thats when my best ideas come...????....

Also....have to run to the city tomorrow to get R-dog a present (his bday is only a day a way...that made me want to sing a song from Annie....i digress)....as well as a present, need food, goodies, and who knows what else.

I'm going to bed now...and when I wake up all will be swell with the world....right??

just please dont let me forget to move the laundry to the dryer.....

BEWARE OF THE POT PARTY......

the eve of hallows eve....

Tomorrow is Halloween...and I think I've ate most of the candy. Still dont have the kids costumes done either. yep, right on track.

Hockey was cancelled last night for C-man as the small rink's ice is still not in (supposed to be ready to go for the weekend though).

So, instead of doing anything productive we went for a long walk....it was too beautiful not to take advantage of it.

R-dog is supposed to have practise tonight and DH should be home for it....i hope.

I am going to try and do a mad dash run to Costco if all works out. Need to get some birthday supplies (see junkfood/pizza/pop) for R-dogs party saturday. Also need to get him a little more of a present...again...right on track.

He has decided to have over 9 kids and play football with the dads in the park. Once that is done they are headed over to the house for pizza. I think he will be good and tired as he plays a hockey game for two hours before the party starts....sleep is a wonderful thing.

7:30-fed the boys
8:15 - shipped boys to bus
8:16-worked out
9:00- checked work emails, returned a couple of calls, then jumped in shower
9:55 - had daily constitutional
10:00-went to work
12:00 - went out for lunch with friend to Pita Pit-had a new Chicken Thai Wrap(delicious, by the way)
12:45- back to work
3:45 - came home, turned work computer on. Checked Facebook.
4:00 - work computer going through an update which should take about an hour.
4:10 - right now. Thinking of something brilliant to write so that you can make funny comments.
4:11 - still thinking
4:12 - got nothing.

4:25 - shut the tv off and banish all males outside
4:27 - after numerous attempts at "no football in the house rule" glass bowl broken
4:59 - one boy comes in crying after receiving a blow to the nards. crushing
5:00 - turn on bbq

5:40 - ate buffalo burger, asparagus, home made carrots and french fries
5:55 - farted

6:15 and every other commercial - checked work emails, returned a couple of calls
6:30 - funny phone call to Louise
7:10 - helped boys with homework. C-man with spelling. R-dog with math.
7:30 - talked to Velvis on the phone
8:00 - put boys to bed
8:30 - started one of two loads of laundry. folded. put into baskets
9:00-scratched my left arm
9:30 - let the phone ring. telemarketer. even though I am on the DNC list.
9:44 - updating blog so Velvis can read about my boring day.

11 short years...

Yesterday we celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary.

DH surprised us with a gift. IPOD/radio alarm clock with speakers...I have been whining about wanting a second alarm clock so that - for sure - I can wake up early in the mornings.

We were going to do something ridiculously romantic (because that is so how we roll?) but instead we went to the rink. Then to outfit the kids in skis/boots/poles for the winter. Then to the sports store (40% off!!) to purchase the kids new hockey socks and jackets.

My ma and pa came up and spoiled us to a romantic dimly lit restaurant lunch (the power here went on and off all day yesterday). Then spoiled the kids and left.

The rest of our romantic day was spent watching the RIDERS SQUASH THE ESKYS!!! Friends helped us celebrate their success (and ours) ....it was a perfect day.

another team picked

Just a quick note this morning before I head into work.

C-man's team got picked last night. We know that he got two good coaches (and great guys) so that is HUGE we are pretty pumped. He didnt get on his buddy's team (the other C) so there will be some pretty good battles....heehee

We think they are the Novice Vipers (but dont know for sure yet) and they start their team practises this weekend....

I found my lipstick...just applying the second coat!!

Good morning y'all. (learning some texan slang...)

Well late sunday night the boys got sick. Let them sleep in monday morning and miss school, but shipped them back in the afternoon as they seemed to be feeling better.

Today, I'm not feeling the greatest myself so I decided to stay home and "work" from home. We havent been too terribly busy so it might be good for me to rest and get rid of this bug. DH wasnt feeling the greatest either, but being a trooper he headed off to work a yard.

Last night he went to the hockey meeting. It was his first. And according to him, did not go all that badly. There wasnt a lot of fighting, and when something started to go astray, it was quickly looked after. By the looks of things we should have a competitive team, but most importantly it looks like we have a good bunch to socialize with!! DH will be helping coach R-dogs team and this year they will be named the Bruins. We will let you know when they start scheduling games.

C-man will know his team tonight. This one is a bit more of a crap shoot as DH isnt helping coach this division (at least not yet)....so we will keep our fingers crossed for a good coach.

Let the season begin....I better find my lipstick.

Whirlwind Weekend.

Friday night-had our girls wino club meeting. Very important Agenda. Wine and laughter. Needed both. Didnt need the headache the next day....but oh well.

Saturday - hockey in the am for C-man (had his evaluation for team selection this week). Then we headed in to toon town. (It was a toss up between the lake and the city....and much to the dismay of DH....the city won) Brought his sled in to our fixer buddy....and had a great evening at GnD's ...ordered chinese food and visited with the Fujis....it was a great night. A little too good for the boys...hmm???

Sunday hit Costco (although I didnt find the boys jackets...boo) and went over to Grandpa and Grandma B's for a quick visit and watch a bit of the nailbiting football game. (which we ended up listening to on the radio on our way home). Sunday night both Retzky and DH had hockey.

Then...late sunday night...both boys decided to get sick. Not just queezy stomach sick.....but projectile sick. (think "Stand by Me")

Today...I am working from home and kept the boys home for observation....they seem to be doing better and I think I will send them to school this afternoon...

We are ready for the weekend now...tonight I have a very important wino meeting with some girlfriends. Tomorrow C-man has hockey, then we might head to the lake as Retzkys hockey isnt until Sunday night.

Quick post before I download my pictures. Had a very fast visit with DH's side of the fam on sunday. We also took some great pics...will post tonight hopefully.

There was news of an engagement. Lots of delicious food. Entertainment (jazz dancing). And beautiful children.

DH and I just did our civic duty. Probably cancelled each other out...but its done. Now we have the right to complain. Right?? Or, give kudos. (????)

Yesterday turned out to be a great day at our house. We had friends over to watch the Riders win. Arrgghhh...at least the food, drinks and company were good.

We had a lot of laughs- heard some great stories - then took a walk down to the sand bars. The kids seemed to have a really great time as well.

Oh yes...for GnD that missed it. (Homemade chicken wings, homemade ham with fresh baked buns, new salad that was killer, surprise spread, lots of booze, and more food...)

You would have had fun!!! Sad you couldnt make it...next time!

Good morning...Have a great Gobble Gobble Day!!

We were going to skip hockey today, head into the city early to visit DH's dad...but unfortunately the boys have evaluations today. We have had hockey a lot this week (mon/thurs/fri/sat/sun). And they have improved a lot already.

This has meant that I havent had a lot of time to prepare or clean my house. I am not taking a dessert to DH's family thanksgiving today. Nor will I probably ever again after the fiasco of 2006. So, I am making Louise's famous beans. Gotta get to that.

Also having a few people over for the Rider game tomorrow and have to get a ham cooked....how long will that take? I miss when my mommy is gone-I need to ask food questions!!!

Dont have alot

I have been seriously lacking on content lately. BUT, at least I have been updating my blog...not like Bizzymama....really what else could she be doing?

Working, hockey, running, etc....cant keep you all that busy, can it?

Tonight, my goal was to make salsa, get the house cleaned.

I cleaned about 1/2 the basement - then realized Greys Anatomy was on.

I guess I'll make salsa tomorrow.

Today is tuesday, but feels like a monday. All day it felt like monday. Not sure whats going on with the sleep thing...but if my mother is right...could be early menopause....hmmm....sleep less as we get older....means I might actually get caught up in other things??? right????

Retzkys hockey went well last night...he seems to be working really hard...which is always a good thing. He has hockey mon, thurs, fri, sat, sun this week. C-man only sat/sun. So, not too sure what we are doing for turkey day.

I am working full time now (or so they tell me)..and really trying to get up earlier in the morning to accomplish everything....i think the two alarm system is now going to have to go to three alarms. Two in my room (one beside the bed, one by the closet) and now maybe set the one in the kitchen. Have to think about that one-not sure DH would love it. (And probably would only wake up the boys)

Tomorrow I have to go back to the city - again - but this time for an eye appointment. I also dont have time for much else, as I have to meet at client at the bank at 3. Quick trip.

thats all..i know...not very entertaining....but if i dont update everyday (or twice a day) Velvis gets irritated.

What a whirlwind weekend.

Friday we had meetings for half the day....then supper....then drinks...and more drinks until the wee hours of the morning. I think they called that networking.

Saturday was meetings in the morning with a lot of water breaks. For the most part, I probably didnt need to be at the meetings, but it was good to meet new people and see old friends.

In the evening- it was the la-de-da affair. Fancy shmancy pants were everywhere....my boss (aka jerk face from the previous post) did win a Cruise. Pretty exciting...(especially since he says he will now pay for a trip for me and DH!?....we will see about that).

My fav line of the evening....to a very beautiful girl (inside and out) who just happens to be extremely thin. An old friend popped by and asked her " Just where do you keep your internal organs?"....had a good chuckle.

Also almost tried to get picked up by a local bar patron who fell in love with my new leopard print shoes...then my well manicured toes....then....well it was time to find a body guard after that!!

Very glad to be home as I missed two hockey sessions and lots of time with the boys. Apparently they had fun quadding down on the river banks...

Okay..listen up. I have to explain myself.

Yes, I applied for another job. Yes, I had an interview and it went really really well. Yes, they offered me the job.

Thats all I know for sure.

I made up my mind to take the job. Then I made up my mind not to. This went on all hours of the night. Did not sleep a wink.

Woke up in the morning and it was all clear. I was taking the job. Nothing was going to shake me from that.

Until I talked to the guy I work for...who I will call jerk-face. Jerk-face (in the nicest possible sense) made me cry like a baby and kept me in his office for 2 hours. Jerk-face is the only reason I went back to where I now work in the first place. He was a client, turned co-worker who I really enjoy working with.

I found myself saying to the other (wonderful) company that I couldnt take it at this time. Timing was wrong. Besides not getting my year end bonus (which has potential)...I also wasnt 100% sure on after school care.

jerk-face is going to live to regret the day he made me stay with him. Now I am getting a raise and bumped up to full-time.

Jerk-face, his wife and I are now going to the city this weekend for a big work brew haha....JF is going to get me stinkin drunk. I think I deserve that.
