weekend is over...and its manic monday

Hey there....ok quick hockey updates.

Retzkys tourney in Hafford (coldest rink ever btw) didnt end so good. Two losses and a win. But the team they won - won the A side...so we're using that as motivation.

C-man missed saturday, played sunday - not a lot of players still being that the break was just ending. Lost their game....but had fun.

My birthday party was nice....mom and pops took the family out for supper...then volunteered to watch the boys, while we went "out". DH and I looked at each other like "now what the heck do we do with ourselves..." Went door knocking on a couple of places, invited ourselves in for a couple of drinks...then back home.

This week in trying to get to Uncle Cherry's dads funeral...just dont think we can make it work. Feeling terrible....work is ultra busy....kids are extra busy with hockey tues/weds/thurs and big tourney fri/sat/sun. Sorry...we will make it up to you with a weekend at the lake...quadding or boating or something-ing......

Tonight is the only night "off" and I have done hockey books for the last 2 hours....now to jump on the old treadmill and sweat like the oldie I am.....

yep. still here

So we are here...we are cheering Go Canada Go like the rest of the country. Love the Olympics...cant get enough!!

The boys havent had any real hockey lately with the school break there is a lack of bodies to get games together. This week off school, but both DH and I working we arent going to do any outings ....as you know, we are the ONLY family that doesnt go to Mexico. or so I hear.

C-man and R-dog both got to play with their affiliate teams last week. They both did very well. The younger of the two got 2 goals and at least 7 shots on net...hustled back and played defensively as well....the older one got his first taste of body contact again....something he will have to adjust to. We also need to figure out a way to BEEF him up. The nickname "Mr Burns" will have to go!! He did have a couple of scoring opportunities and worked hard.

DH has been loving the work out of Biggar...its been way busier than here. Now to sell one of our vehicles for a more gas friendly mode of transportation.

Thankful...

Ok...enough with the rants...

Heres what I have been thankful for lately:

Massages
Public displays of affection
Kids bringing home great grades
Some quiet time
New friends
Rum. (i thought wine was my friend...now that I am aging, i know that its rum.)
Jokes and laughing. Laughing and jokes.

more things that make you go hmmm???

teensy weensy little bit upset....maybe someone can explain it to me......

Why? oh why on earth.....would Canada allow a -

Steroid loving, Austrian-born, American turned, POLITICIAN carry our Canadian torch??

I mean yes...he has made some classic movies (Kindergarten cop, Terminator, Twins, Total Recall....classic for sure...)

But do we not have enough WORTHY CANADIANS to carry in the flag??

Give me a break....or explain it to me. please. somebody quick...before my vein starts throbbing.

hockey updates

Ok..

Retzkys tourney was less than steller apparently. They went 1-2-1. DH figures they could have won two more....lost 3-2 and the tie 2-2. Both were teams that we should have been able to beat...but for some reason couldnt....or didnt.

He was pretty happy with the "c final"...but not so happy with the bus ride. For the weeks leading up to it he was so excited to go on his first bus trip. Afterwards he never wants to go on one that long ever again.

Sounds like the parents had fun though (booo....but at least they talked about how much they missed me!!)

C got to play goalie and was pretty pumped about it. They only had practise...no games.

This weekend its reverse....R-dog has just practise, C has a couple of games. ( i think....havent checked the calendar....but pretty sure)

this morning...

Feeling ULTRA guilty about not going along on the only bus trip for Retzky this year. DH went along to Yorkton for a big three day tourney. Trust me, I really wish I would have went....feeling terrible.

At first, it was because C didnt want to miss his hockey games (then we found out he only had one 2 hour practise on sunday...could have easily been missed....) So dont know why we didnt go.

Then, I woke up this morning at 730 with C jumping into my bed.

First thing he asked me was where I would like him to massage me....wow.

So, as he was massaging my beautiful tootsies...he said he wants to save up his allowance money to buy me and dad a new car. WOW.

Ok...not feeling so guilty now. what a kid.

things that make you go hmmm???

K...just wondering...as this conversation has come up a time or two in the past.

I can literally spend hours each week grooming my unruly eyebrows. Stray ones, Long ones, short ones, fat ones, gray ones....well you get the picture.

Did the same thing last night.

Today, while waiting in the car for C after school, I propped open the vanity mirror in my truck.

GOOD GOD MAGNUM! Seriously look like the unibrow queen of NB. How come in the vanity mirror you can see all these extra strays that you cant see at home??? And why arent my friends telling me?? I must look like the baby of Brooke Shields in the 80's and Saskquatch.

And why as you get older do you get hairier? What is the purpose of that?

ok...done ranting...must go find a magnum of wine and ponder.

longevity..

For those of you that know me well, you know that I dont stick with things very long. Or for that matter, anything very long.

Most of my "relationships" were weeks at most (DH just really puts up with A LOT ..bless his heart). My excercise regime starts out strong, then peters out (usually quickly). My meal planning....yep gone too (took too much time, apparently?)

So...I am sure you are all shocked that I have stuck with this GD blog thingy!! It takes GD effort, GD-it!

Ok...so as soon as I get back to my excercise, my meal planning, my saving for a rainy day....then I will start to have interesting posts again. Until then...be patient. (I contemplated putting down what I really felt like saying there ...then put something nicer)

We have been dealing with crazy (and I mean CRAZY loco) parents on one of the hockey teams, dealing with doing books for two hockey teams, and organizing other SHEET. I also have now downloaded my guitar lessons cd rom and almost got through one chapter!!

Considering adding wrestling to the boys agenda. May not work into Retzkys schedule as he has hockey the same nights, but C-man is totally pumped. For $50 might be worth my sanity...we will see...

Welcome
