I love Finding Nemo....I could watch it 100 times. Dory has a memory like mine, and she seems ridiculously happy. I'll get there eventually.
Both DH and I forgot our anniversary last week. Thank goodness! I would hate it if he remembered and lavished me with presents. (ok, just hate if he remembered and I didn't - I probably wouldn't hate the gifts). We had a nice supper with some friends over. It was the first time in a long time that we actually got to see each other on our actual date. 16 years. Time flies when your having fun.
The boys are still busy with hockey. This week we have hockey related dr's appointment for c-mans feet, work a canteen shift, two hockey practises, deliver catalogues (ongoing fundraiser), retzkys tournament and c-mans out of town swing.
Thank goodness that DH has holidays as the tournament in Regina starts Thursday. He gets that duty....I'll take the northern bus trip.
So, were gonna keep swimming. Keep that positive outlook.....and no "professional advice" from the parents. No matter how right we are.

Here it goes again....
Tis the season to be jolly falalalalalalalala....at least that's how it feels with both sides of my family done their xmas shopping and talking about xmas parties. WTH? I haven't even sent out my wedding thank you's. (Sorry, again, dad)
Its been a tad busy around here with hockey. What will we ever do with ourselves when its all done? I guess you'll have to stay tuned.
This weekend was 5 games in 3 days. 3 at home and 2 on the road. Unfortunately for the boys they had some big BIG losses, and a big big win. Retzky went 1-1, C-man went 1-2.
I have turned over a new leaf, however, and I'm only looking at the positive. The games were close in proximity and manageable (as DH was around). The older boy had 5 points, and the younger one didn't have a lot of goals get around him. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Retzky tells me that this new positive outlook on hockey/athletics will only last a week. I'm out to prove him wrong.
Unfortunately the younger boy has started having some feet issues, so we have been researching, making doctor appointments and trying new and old remedies alike. It could be a long season for him if we don't find a cure - so I'll keep you posted.
oh yes...btw....I have been job hunting a little more seriously. I have turned down one and been turned down a few more than that (hard on the ego, but I'll survive). Something will come up - it always does.

Friday night lights
Yes, my Friday nights are going to be me and my reading light whenever possible. LOL
The house is quiet, has a strong scent of AXE deodorant and is quiet. Oh wait, I think I said that twice.
The boys went to the hockey game and I had the house to myself. Finished a book. (which happened to be a young adult book...but I was desperate and it was alright)
That could have been my last night off for awhile as the hockey season starts today for Retzky. C-man isn't too far behind.
The only thing that could have been better would have been to have DH home to share a nice glass of wine with. A girl can dream.....

Apple doesnt fall far from the tree
There may be a small part of me that is exactly like my father. A teeny tiny little bit.
When we woke up this morning, my thermostat read 15 degrees Celsius. The kids were whining and moping around because they could see their breath. boohoo.
ITS NOT OCTOBER.
Grab an extra sweater, a blanket or get your ass on the treadmill. Mama aint turning on the furnace.
I hear its supposed to warm up - eventually. Besides, I have hockey fees to pay.

Missing this
DH was missing harvest this year. And although I was never Miss Farmer, I am missing it too. The older I get the better farming was. I hope you are all safe out there. I also hope that it is close to being in the bin for the year.
Too early for resolutions?
I know harvest is coming to a close for some, but we don't want snow anytime soon. Right?
In the midst of my life crisis (refusing to call it a mid life crisis) I have been burying my head in the fridge and trying to come to some sort of conclusion about where my life should be headed. Havent we all?
The first step I have decided would be to BACK AWAY FROM THE DAMN FRIDGE.
The second, I have decided to try to get back to this blogging business as it helps me clear my thoughts.
And third, I have decided to be thankful for what I have.
Babysteps. uhm.
So, this is where we are at now. Retzky has worked hard all summer at trying to get into shape. He actually stuck to it without being nagged by his slightly-competitive parents. After all his work, he was rewarded by making the Bantam AA team here in town. After that, he also made a very painful decision to forego football for this year. This is the first time he chose to put one sport over another. It was a very hard decision for him, but he has had a very good pre-season so far (14 points in 3 games) so that makes it a little easier.
Chaser is still struggling with that dang collar bone injury. It would have been healed up, but unfortunately a little backyard tackle football set him back again. He has been told he made the AA Pee wee team, but final cuts are this weekend, so fingers crossed he isn't one of them. He has been able to practise - but no slapshots - which are his FAV....and no pre-season games. Its been just as hard on us old folks to listen to the pleas.
I have been on a job hunt. Which might have something to do with that midlife dealio...I actually turned one down this week. Nuts? Possibly. But I'm sure something bigger and better is just around that corner.
DH has been working out of town instead of driving which has its benefits. The gas attendants are missing him though...

Going Strong
Well, so much for my regular updates. But here goes...
C-mans spring hockey team is doing very well. They have had 2 tournaments so far. They were ranked very high in the first one and just WON the 2nd! They were very excited! 2 left to go....Regina and Winterpeg....the parents have been a great group and everyone seems to be getting along.
He is also loving his tackle football - first game tonight! And so is Retzkys....should be a fun night.
Retzky also found out last night that he has made his bantam baseball team. We have decided not to go into the league and instead, so tourneys. So far - just one conflict with hockey. A couple of tourneys in the city and not a lot of driving....perfect!
Scott and I have been taking turns running them around and enjoying every minute of it...
